Therapeutic Inclusion - Th.Inc & Play Therapy

At Chorlton CofE Primary School, we know that emotional functioning can affect a child's educational success. Providing an emotionally nurturing environment in which children can explore their needs is a key part of our commitment to caring for the whole child.

We have our own 'Therapeutic Inclusion' room (Th.inc) where a trained Play Therapist provides high quality interventions that merge both educational and therapeutic approaches. Weekly interventions allow children use play and other creative mediums in which to build confidence and work through difficulties they may be experiencing.

Our models of working take a holistic approach to working with children and families, while the calming space provides opportunities to work through emotional and social barriers to learning. Interventions include Emotional Literacy programmes, anxiety-reducing activities, collaborative play/social groups and more specialized Play Therapy.
